There’s something powerful about setting an intention, a force that can transform how we navigate through life. Recently, I’ve felt like I’ve lost my way, my direction. Despite the exciting journey of Grow Grampians, I have been feeling a little drained. It’s not my style to feel powerless, yet I’ve found myself attached to a fixed mindset, waiting on something outside myself to determine my future. I’ve become a drifter.
Drifting, surfing, navigating—there really are three types of people, I prefer to refer to them as “modes”? The “drifter” – gets pushed around by life, floating along without any real sense of purpose. The “surfer” – rides the waves when they come, full of glory in the moment, but just as easily waits for the next wave to carry them along. And then, there’s the “navigator” – the one with intention, who sets a clear destination and steers toward it, even when the waves crash and the wind pushes them off course. The navigator finds their way back through effort and persistence.
“Intention is our Northern Light—our internal guide, steering us toward our true purpose.”
Here’s the thing: I am known as the navigator, and I know how fulfilling that is. But for a while, I have been feeling a little hollow and tired, out of resources and direction, I am drifting!
This is where the magic of intention comes in. Intention is like our Northern Light—our internal guide, steering us toward our true purpose. It’s what keeps us from drifting aimlessly, what transforms us from surfers into navigators, and the best thing is, it acts like fuel to the inner light!
Here’s the reality: most people are drifting through life, unaware that they have the power to steer their own ship. It’s one of my biggest passions—to help people realize they are in charge of their own destination. By setting an intention, by taking ownership, we don’t just survive—we thrive. Life can flow with ease, aligning opportunities and people to support the direction we choose. It’s a beautiful dance when we let intention guide us.
But I have to admit, I was for a drifting for a while. That’s why I’m writing this now. I’m writing because one of my intentions has always been to inspire others to thrive in life. Yet, here I was, just bobbing away!
But just like nature, there is eb and flow, contraction and expansion!
So, I’m listening to my inner voice. I’m resetting my compass. I’m choosing to stop drifting and start navigating again. Navigating towards the establishment of GROW! And just by writing this, by setting this intention, I can already feel a shift—an energy returning, a sense of purpose pulling me forward once more.
Thank you for reading, for being here with me as I find my way back to my Northern Light. I hope this inspires you to pick up your own compass and chart a course toward the life you truly want to live.
Let’s navigate together.
